Find out the FPS (frames per second) in PC games using Fraps. You can also use Fraps to capture screenshots and videos, and use it to benchmark your FPS.
Any game using DirectX or OpenGL graphic technology is compatible with Fraps. The FPS will be displayed in the corner while you are in a game, and you can save the FPS over time and use them to benchmark different set ups.
Although Fraps is free, any time you use it to record video of games, there will be a watermark, and screenshot captures are limited to only certain file formats. Registering the software is required to remove these limitations. However, you will always be able to find the current framerate of your games with Fraps for free.
